Aside from intuitive controls and Klonoa's unique abilities, players can look forward to solving puzzles and besting enemies to progress further into the story. Since Door to Phantomile and Lunatea's Veil practically share the same gameplay mechanics, newcomers to the franchise will feel at home in no time.

The Phantasy Reverie Series offers an authentic throwback to the franchise's side-scrolling elements, with the environments rendered in 3D and platforming sequences taking place on a 2D plane. For the first time in the series' history, Klonoa's original adventure as a Dream Traveler is brought together under a single roof, allowing players to experience its charming nature and addictive gameplay uninterrupted. As the Phantasy Reverie Series aims to capture its essence, Bandai's focus on core installments is well justified. Though younger generations of gamers may not be familiar with Klonoa because the franchise eventually fell by the wayside, it was popular enough to span multiple spin-off games for select handheld consoles back in the day.

Initially announced during a Nintendo Direct earlier this year, Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series promises to bring back remastered versions of two iconic entries in the titular franchise.
